Sarah Winchester, heir by marriage to the Winchester firearms fortune, created this home in the Santa Clara Valley in California.
After seeing the death of her daughter and her husband, she spoke to a medium about the deaths. The spiritualist told the grieving widow the deaths were a result of the guns her husband’s company manufactured. Mrs. Winchester was also told to “build a home for yourself and for the spirits who have fallen from this terrible weapon too. You can never stop building the house. If you continue building, you will live. Stop and you will die.”
She moved west and eventually found a home under construction in the valley. She bought it and began a construction project that literally lasted the rest of her life. She immediately hired builders. They worked 24/7/365. The house expanded. Stairwells ended at walls. Doors opened to nothing.
Sarah Winchester died at age 83. Work stopped as soon as her body was found. The house is marked as one of the most bizarre and haunted in the United States today.
Calling it grotesque is fitting, considering the lengths Sarah Winchester went to, the cost and the architecture.
It’s easy to find a grotesque car. Look in any junkyard. The wrecks are plentiful That’s grotesque on an accidental scale. Then, there are the intentional works.
“This sad, grotesque rolling metallic vagina used to be a 1971 Ford Torino. I guess this was displaying some kind of new 3D printing technique, but damn, I wish they hadn’t invented it,” says PuppyKnuckles.com
And then, there’s the 80’s effort to be as gross as possible. It’s hard to pick exactly what achieved the top end for being grotesque, but this kiddie car certainly deserves as a place on the list. Eran Abramson says, “This must be the weirdest and most grotesque toy car I have ever seen and what makes it even worst is watching the baby riding inside remaining as cute as a button. What can we really say about this toy car? Is it a renovated bumper car? Is it a toddler’s toy? Or is it a creation of some freak of nature which wanted to get a picture of his baby riding inside to get a laugh out of friends?”
I started as yoga trainer and getting more and more close with people who came for yoga classes, I saw that it might not be all I can do for them. Then I started thinking about elaborating my own complex lifestyle program. I already had a bunch of ideas – so it started swiftly.
With my medical degree in endocrinology I was able to smartly combine yoga techniques together with correct nutrition recommendations and come up with a neat program that would improve self-comprehension of many people struggling with their weight problems and overall dissatisfaction.
My clients – people are diverse,
but one thing unites all: an active position in life.
